ABOUT EVE BLOUIN

Eve Blouin's commitment to promoting global cultures stems from her rich European and African heritage. Her cultural influence began in 1980s Paris, where she pioneered the introduction of African and World Music on Radio Nova, France's most progressive radio station. During this period, she became an influential figure in the city's rebellious, cosmopolitan youth counter-culture and contributed to several successful New Wave recordings that gained recognition in both France and England.

After establishing herself in London and starting a family, Blouin expanded her creative pursuits into art collection and architectural design, overseeing the development of contemporary homes across Europe and America. In 2007, she co-produced Dearaddy's film "Kid Creole and my Coconuts," marking her entry into filmmaking.

Her directorial breakthrough came in 2014 with "In the Eye of the Spiral," a visionary documentary about Haiti featuring writer Franketienne's literary movement, Spiralism. Narrated by Annie Lennox, the film earned the Best Feature Documentary award at the Big Apple Film Festival. Building on this success, she wrote "Realismo Maravilloso" (2017), which garnered multiple accolades including awards at the Cuban American Film Festival in Miami, the Short Long World Festival in Argentina, and the Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela.

These documentaries form part of her ambitious Triptych project, exploring literary and philosophical movements along the historical Triangular Trade route from the Caribbean to Africa. Recently, Blouin completed a dramatic comedy set in Miami while simultaneously working on two literary projects: completing the French translation of her mother's book "My Country Africa" and curating her own memoirs.
